Having trained as a lawyer I discovered my love for baking when a friend brought me a subscription for a well-known “foodie” magazine. Once I realised the variety of treats out there and that “home-baked” tasted so much better than “shop bought” there was no turning back! Up until that point I had watched my mother bake traditional Caribbean fruit cake but never paid much attention beyond licking out the mixing bowl!
I started baking for friends and family and with their encouragement Sweet Sensation was born. In fact, my sister came up with the name, and it just seemed to fit. Like most, my cake recipes have been handed down through the generations of my family and to that I have added some favourites from established well-known bakeries (with my own twist of course!)
20 years later, I’m pleased to say I am still doing what I love – creating amazing wedding and celebration cakes and more recently BouqCakes. There’s nothing I enjoy more than taking the vision in your mind and turning it into your stunning cake which will be the centrepiece at your celebration. Seen by many and photographed to be kept in your special memories.
